An extraordinary legacy of customer service, employee loyalty, and wonderful automobiles are the qualities
that have allowed Jim Burke Automotive to set the standard for Birmingham automobile dealerships since
the 1940's. In 1945, fresh from training pilots during World War ΙΙ, Jim Burke, Sr. opened a Nash dealership
in Birmingham. Seven years later, when Mr.Burke was awarded a Buick franchise, Jim Burke Automotive was
on its way to decades of exciting expansion. Jim Burke, Jr. took over the reins of the company in 1976.
Today the company has 13 franchises and employs more than 385 people. Those people—such as Jack Harris,
service manager for 47 years, and the 40 other employees who have more than 20 years of service—have
created a powerful company that prizes both customer and employee loyalty.
